Exercise Risk Acknowledgment
When you create an account, you confirm that you have read and understand this acknowledgment. It is part of the Terms of Service.
Exercise has inherent risks
Physical activity, including strength training, cardio, stretching and mobility work, carries inherent risks. These include muscle strains and tears, sprains, joint and back injuries, injuries from dropped or improperly used equipment, falls, overexertion, dehydration, and, rarely, serious cardiovascular events. Changing how much or what you eat also carries risks, especially for people with medical conditions. Some risks can't be eliminated even with careful instruction.
What you agree to do
- Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing a program when appropriate (see the Medical & Fitness Disclaimer).
- Warm up, start with light weights and progress gradually.
- Use proper form. If you aren't sure how to do an exercise safely, skip it or get in-person instruction from a qualified trainer. Photos, written steps and linked videos are general demonstrations, not individual coaching.
- Use equipment that is in good condition and that you know how to use; use a spotter, safety pins or collars for heavy barbell lifts.
- Train in a safe space, and stay hydrated.
- Choose exercises, weights and intensities suited to your own fitness, health and experience, even if a plan (including an AI-generated plan) suggests otherwise.
- Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, unusual shortness of breath or any warning sign, and get medical help if needed. Never push through pain.
Your decision
You decide whether, how and how hard to exercise. You participate voluntarily, and to the fullest extent permitted by law you assume the risks of the activities you choose to do using information from the App.
